While you’re surfing the web or downloading files, 360 security will be present to ensure nothing harmful is lurking. It will block access to suspicious sites, scan the history of your browser, keep track of the amount of data you’re using and even locate the phone you’ve lost.
The suite also comes with firewalls, a shredder for data and scheduled tools for system cleaning. It is able to automatically update drivers and features anti-tracking. It even gives you access to privileged technical support access by a single click.
While there are many settings and options, the interface of the software is easy to navigate and understand. The majority of the settings can be controlled with a switch or button, or checkmark. This is great from an ergonomic standpoint. The program is accessible on both Windows and Mac, and it’s free to use (ad-supported).
The antivirus does an excellent job of securing your PC from malware. Its real-time security detects more than 90% of threats and it didn’t generate false positives during my testing. It’s not as robust in degree of detection as other top products when it comes to file scanning and heuristics.
360 Total Security comes with various security and maintenance options. A VPN is included in the premium version. Its heuristic algorithm can detect malware by looking at the behaviour of a program. This is quite useful, particularly in cases where the threat has not yet been officially identified. The program comes with a “clean-up’ utility as well as other tune-up programs that can improve PC performance.
